Interview: Micah Renata Turner
As promised, without further ado, I present to you, Micah Turner!

Ayos: Micah, having traveled quite extensively, where is your most favorite place in the world?
Micah: My favorite place in the world would depend on what I’m feeling at the moment. I love city alley ways, and the underside of bridges. I love the shipping yard and the harbor, I love the beach and the mountains, I love my parents’ house, I love my own room.
A: What inspires you?
M: I am inspired by the shapes I see around me. I’m always turning things into other things inside my head. I guess you could say I’m constantly creating, and sometimes I use a pen to document it.
A: What would you say your style is?
M: My style has been described by others as tribal, though I’m not certain it really is. If tribal means, “Untrained, unflinching and personal,” then I suppose my work is tribal.
A: Does your personal style (home decor, way you dress) reflect your art?
M: I would like to think that my personal style reflects my art, though perhaps not in the neatest ways. I care how I look, but I don’t think about it very much. my home is eclectic. I’m a sucker for nick nacks and old post cards. I love making things go together that weren’t originally intended to be together.
A: And finally, do you sell your art and where can we see more of your work?
M: Yes I do sell my art! It’s weird because I’m always surprised when someone actually wants to give me money for something that I make. I’m always like, “seriously? You would pay me for this?” But that’s the idea right? The hope that one day I could actually make a living doing something that feels natural to me.
